MOTHER & SON (2018)

by Norah Lea & Vimal Kumar

Mother & Son sees Norah Lea portraying herself as the world’s most famous religion icons through the very same tools that are more or less gendered. Through using makeup, wigs and the same fabric, she makes a point on how gender is merely expression. These images are of mixed media through the use of photographic images by Norah Lea as well as painting done by Vimal Kumar.

Mother & Son is currently being exhibited at Hatchart Project from the 15th November till 12th January, as part of a group exhibition, Deciphering Clothes: The troublemaker’s wardrobe.
